With calmly plucked guitar parts and subdued vocals, Boyle takes you through vast landscapes where you can comfortably daydream. The band delivers hopeful and melancholic songs without losing sight of melody and dynamics. Boyle’s music is often compared to The National, Low, Morphine, and Kurt Vile.

In 2015, Boyle started as a project by Marten Timan, known from the Utrecht post-rock formation We vs. Death. Boyle is named after a remote village in Alberta, Canada, where Marten spent over a year as an exchange student. The memories and experiences from that period are encapsulated in the personal album ‘Release,’ released in 2015 via SNWF Records (Knoxville, US). The full length album ‘Release’ is available on several platforms, including Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Youtube and Spotify, and for sale on Vinyl.

Boyle has evolved into a full-fledged band and has performed extensively in the Netherlands and Germany at unique venues.

Boyle is
– Marten Timan (guitar, vocals)
– Lotte van Leengoed (bass, organ, vocals)
– Dave Mollen (drums, organ, vocals)
– Thijs Kuijken (guitar, organ, vocals)

Over the past years, the band has released several singles, and a new full album is set to be released in 2024.
