Passing Shadows
Second full length album

Passing Shadows is the new full-length album from Utrecht-based indie-rock band Boyle. Over eleven tracks, the album explores themes of grief, love, renewal and hope — shaped in part by the loss of frontman Marten Timan’s brother a few years ago.

The songs are intimate and layered, blending carefully woven guitar parts, subtle electronics, and understated vocals. The sound shifts from delicate and quiet (Headphones & Highways, Truth) to rich, dynamic crescendos (Will Be Here, Calling), always leaving space for reflection.

Influences include acts like The National, Morphine, and Portishead — with acoustic elements sitting alongside experimental textures and thoughtful arrangements. Passing Shadows is Boyle’s most personal and cohesive work to date: an album that resonates deeply, offering both melancholy and quiet hope.
